2012–2015.
Print separations and prepress for Brooklyn art collective FAILE.
The process was long, between 50–60 hours of work per print.
I'd start with the original artwork (paint and silkscreen on wooden blocks). From there we decide how many colors we can use to accurately portray the original without breaking the bank.
Most prints land just above 20 plates — some as many as 30.
Then my work begins — using photography, original art files, and actual art as reference, I start building layers of color in Photoshop using a Wacom Cintiq tablet.
The work was great — meditative and inspiring. The prints themselves are incredibly impressive.
Below are some of the prints I was able to work on with this great group of people.
